What is the safest way for me to receive a large bitcoin payment?
Hi Everyone. I am new to bitcoin and I am about to sell some art and the buyer wants to pay in bitcoin. At first, I was hesitant because of all the scans that I've heard of but it might be the easiest way to do this exchange. Here are my questions
What is the best wallet to use if you are receiving a large payment?
I really want to make sure the process is secure and safe.
What are some of the scams I should look out for in my situation?
-My customer is ready to send me bitcoin and once I can confirm that I have got payment, I can give the pieces to her.
. Will I have to declare the bitcoin I receive?
I am assuming because it is a significant amount, I'd probably get taxed on it. I am in South Africa btw.
. What is the safest and fastest way to get dollars for my bitcoin.
I need to understand the process of selling my bitcoin and what fees I can expect.
These are the questions I have for now. If anyone of you reading this is interested in helping me further privately. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

''' The truth is, 99% of people still don't give a fuck about Bitcoin. Even those who know what it is, (mostly) how it works, etc. Because they can use their visa and have an instant payment done, anywhere, anytime. Unless they believe they are gonna get rich from this "magic internet money", it isn't relevant to them. Libertarians will be big fans, but other than that, support is sparse compared to population... And some will look at it as simply a tax evasion tool. I'm not disparaging bitcoin. It's just the general population, even those who think Bitcoin is awesome (myself included), won't bother to buy something that is either an incredibly volatile investment, or "cash" that they can use... Almost nowhere. It's going to take a long time, if it ever happens, for real, meaningful adoption and more importantly, real, consistent use outside of the relatively small Bitcoin community. And frankly all the hype posts.. "Guy who owns Bitcoin predicts Bitcoin will be worth 500k!".. is a turn off for a lot of people. Because it makes it sound like... "Herbalife products will not only help you live to 100, they will make you rich!" Non bitcoiners coming to this subreddit can easily, and reasonably, assume it's a pyramid scheme feeding those who already own it. And that's a problem. Reminder:The main characteristic that made bitcoin (btc) blows up in the first place is being used as permissionless payment system. This is what created global demand for it...to USE it as global P2P cash to pay for stuff & services. Bitcoin has always meant to be a medium of exchange.

OKEx CEO: "I think DCEP can be a game-changer in the finance, blockchain, and crypto spaces. Unlike Bitcoin or Libra and USDT, DCEP is 100% state-backed by the government’s reserve fund. What’s more, from a legal perspective, DCEP is a legal tender, so merchants cannot refuse payment in DCEP."
Steve Patterson: "Awesome tech on Bitcoin Cash: trivially easy dividend payments! When I wrote "What's the Big Deal About Bitcoin?", I envisioned stocks being issued on the blockchain, and this is the tech that can do it. Once legal issues are solved, this is the future."
Samson Mow: "What need? Digital payments are easy and options are abundant. Feel free to use credit cards, PayPal, Venmo, Alipay, WeChat Pay, Interac, KakaoPay, etc. #Bitcoin is the foundation of a new global financial system - don’t mistake it for a simple payments provider."

What is the incentive of companies accepting Bitcoin as payment?
I’ve seen plenty of headline news saying Whole Foods, AT&T and other big companies are “accepting Bitcoin as payment” when in reality, they accept the Bitcoin through a third party and then the third party converts it to cash for the company. So what’s the point? To me, this news means very little as companies would have extreme currency risk on their balance sheets/income statements if they did keep the actual Bitcoin.

Now that BitPay has publicly stated that it won't support Bitcoin after the SegWit2x hardfork, what is a good alternative for a Bitcoin payment provider?
I'm looking for a good alternative that allows easy integration into excisting business/website while providing a fair market rate as well as decent volume. edit: I'm refering to today's statement by Bitpay: https://blog.bitpay.com/segwit2x-and-bitpay/ edit2: So far Coinbase and BTCPay were suggested. Coinbase follows the same strategy as and is therefore not a good alternative, https://blog.coinbase.com/clarification-on-the-upcoming-segwit2x-fork-d3c0f545c3e0 BTCPay doesn't support automated conversion into FIAT. More suggestions are welcome! :)
